Juan Isais (1926-2002)

Obituary published by Christian Headlines in 2002:

Known as “Mister Evangelical,” Juan M. Isais, 76, died on April 2. Isias will be remembered globally for his widespread efforts in evangelism, according to LAM News Service. He had worked with Latin American Missions since 1952, when he was recruited to serve with their Evangelism-in-Depth (E/D) program.

“Juan and Liz, his wife, went from country to country developing a publication to support each E/D project,” said LAM’s Director of Ministries. “They were truly ahead of their time,” he added. In 1964 they established LAM of Mexico (MILAMEX), to include publications for evangelistic campaigns, radio programs, camping ministries as well as offering courses for Christian journalists.

After speaking to pastors, Isais liked to challenge them with: “I’d like somebody to show me in the New Testament where it says Jesus taught his disciples a method of evangelism…You see, Christ never taught a method.”
